The two figures who caused CHP to lose Bayrampaşa are receiving 'promotions'
Saki Teker and Ali Karahasanoğlu, who resigned from the CHP, are expected to be appointed as deputy mayors in the Bayrampaşa Municipality.
It has been alleged that Saki Teker and Ali Karahasanoğlu, who resigned from the CHP in the Bayrampaşa Municipality and subsequently contributed to the administration passing to the AKP following the arrest of Mayor Hasan Mutlu, are set to be appointed as deputy mayors.
According to a report by Halk TV, Saki Teker and Ali Karahasanoğlu, who resigned from the CHP in July, had accused the then-Mayor Hasan Mutlu of corruption.
During that period, disciplinary processes regarding the sealing and demolition of an illegal cafe built without permits within municipal boundaries via Teker's company had come to the agenda.
POST-ELECTION CHANGES
On September 16, 2025, Hasan Mutlu and several municipal officials were arrested. The Ministry of Interior suspended Mutlu from duty and replaced him with İbrahim Akın, who is close to the AKP. Following a vote held around the same time and the subsequent shift in the council's arithmetic, İbrahim Akın was elected as the AKP deputy mayor in a new vote held after the elections were annulled on October 27, 2025. It was noted that the critical vote of independent member Saki Teker played a decisive role in the outcome of the vote.
