Time set: Özgür Özel to speak after critical CHP MYK meeting

Following recent developments within the CHP, all eyes have turned to the Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting held today at the Turkish Grand National Assembly. As discussions continue regarding the appointment of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to the party administration following the court's 'absolute nullity' ruling, the focus of the agenda remains on whether the parliamentary group meeting will be held.

WILL THERE BE A GROUP MEETING?

Elected Chairman Özgür Özel arrived at the TBMM this morning for the MYK meeting. It was reported that the meeting began at 11:00 AM. When asked by members of the press after the meeting, “Will the group meeting be held?”, Özel replied, “We will make a statement after the MYK meeting.”

HE WILL HOLD A PRESS CONFERENCE AT 1:00 PM

It was stated that the group meeting planned for the coming days was also among the agenda items at the MYK meeting. It was also learned that Özgür Özel will hold a detailed press conference at the Parliament today at 1:00 PM.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Most recently, a statement from the CHP administration emphasized that a group meeting was planned for Tuesday at the TBMM. It was also stated that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had canceled his program in Manisa to attend the group meeting.

In light of these developments, Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş stated in his remarks on the subject, “The legal legislation is clear; the Chairman of the CHP can speak at his party's group meeting, there is no article to prevent this. We have to act accordingly.”
