TİP Chairman Baş makes statement on alliances and cooperation in March 31 elections

At a press conference held in Parliament, Baş said that in many municipal councils in Turkey, decisions are made unanimously against the public.

Stating that he attributes this to the state of laziness that has formed within opposition parties during the AKP government, Baş expressed that there are currently discussions in the public sphere regarding alliances and cooperation. Baş spoke as follows:

"There is no discussion about what is agreed upon and what is not. The entire discussion is about whether or not to sit in the seat. As TİP, we are preparing for the local elections from a position that rejects this. For us, the interests of the millions of laborers living in this country come first.

We work to do whatever falls upon us to prevent the usurpation of laborers' rights. To this day, we have never lied to the public during elections or at times outside of elections. The alternative to right-wing politics is not right-wing politics, and the alternative to market-oriented politics is not market-oriented politics.

We call on everyone to adopt positions that defend the clear and explicit interests of the people.

We will enter the elections to make the People's Alliance lose. We will enter to put an end to the AKP mentality determining all of politics in Turkey. We are open to alliances and we are open to cooperation, but we need to answer the questions of with whom, for what, and how."
