Trustee blow to CHP: Police blockade makes international headlines!

Politics and the economy in Turkey are facing a new crisis. The decision by the Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance to remove the CHP İstanbul Provincial Administration from office and appoint Gürsel Tekin and his delegation as trustees has caused a major tremor in both the political arena and the markets.

Following the appointment of the trustees, the CHP İstanbul Provincial Headquarters was first placed under a police blockade. Party members inside the building were subjected to harsh intervention. Members of Parliament were also affected by pepper spray.
