Tunç Soyer makes statement regarding CHP chairmanship candidacy

Former İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer has responded to questions about whether he will run for the CHP chairmanship. Speaking to Altan Sancar from Gerçek Gündem, Soyer stated that "it is too early to make a decision" and expressed that he will continue his political life in different forms.

Stating that he has not stepped away from politics, Soyer said, "We will continue to serve our country. We are holding discussions on the form and path of this." He also announced that they would have dinner today at the invitation of former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and would attend the ceremonies in Hacıbektaş.

'I HAVE NOT DECIDED YET'

Soyer stated that he has not yet made his decision and will share it with the public when the time comes. He said, "It is too early to comment and speak. Whatever we say now will be pulled in different directions."

WHAT HAPPENED?

Journalist Barış Yarkadaş had claimed on August 12, while participating in the "Taksim Meydanı" program on TV100, that Tunç Soyer was preparing for the CHP chairmanship. Yarkadaş had said, "It is being discussed in CHP lobbies that Tunç Soyer will work for the chairmanship. Soyer will meet with Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and then seek support from Ekrem İmamoğlu."
