Ümit Özdağ evaluates terrorist organization YPG's decision not to lay down arms: He recalled Bahçeli's words

In the new opening process, referred to as the "Terror-Free Turkey" process, the terrorist organization PKK had laid down its arms and disbanded itself.

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ stated in a post on a social media platform, "The PYD, which is the Syrian branch of the PKK, has announced again that it will not lay down its arms. The PYD made this statement after MHP Chairman Bahçeli criticized the YPG and its political wing, the PYD, for 'dragging their feet' in the process initiated for the 'Terror-Free Turkey' goal, and said that 'the attempt to cripple developments is an unacceptable act of vileness'."

HE RECALLED BAHÇELİ'S WORDS

Özdağ noted the following:

"In summary, the PYD responded to Bahçeli by saying 'we are not laying down our arms.' On the other hand, the following expressions in Bahçeli's statement on July 26 may indicate that he is experiencing disappointment regarding the negotiations with Öcalan, which he is spearheading. Bahçeli said: 'In this context; it is necessary to reach a synthesis of interpretation that takes into account our feelings and the facts, what we want to happen and what we can do, our present and our dreams.' It is understood that the process is not progressing as desired despite all the pressure.

The PKK terror chiefs are, on one hand, demanding that the constitution in Turkey recognize Kurds as a separate founding nation, that Southeastern and Eastern Anatolia be left to PKK administration at least as an autonomous region, and that Turkey be governed jointly. In Syria, they insist on the PYD remaining an autonomous region and being governed by Öcalan. Everything else is a detail. The People's Alliance, meanwhile, does not know how to make the Turkish Nation accept this."
