Ümit Özdağ reacts to MHP's social media post

The Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) shared a graphic on its social media account featuring Chairman Devlet Bahçeli with the slogan "Everyone Wins with Peace." 

While the post sparked debate in the public sphere, it drew a sharp reaction from Victory Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ.

"PEACE IS MADE BETWEEN STATES, NOT WITH TERROR"  

Quoting the MHP's post on his social media account, Özdağ emphasized that making peace with the terrorist organization PKK is unacceptable, stating:

"Mr. Bahçeli, peace is made between states. You cannot make peace with a terrorist organization. If you do, you equate the Republic of Turkey with the PKK terrorist organization. You can only hold surrender negotiations with the PKK. You cannot propose surrender to the PKK to the Turkish nation and state."

"FOLLOW THE PATH OF ATATÜRK"

In his statement, Özdağ continued his criticism of Bahçeli as follows:

"We will not surrender to the PKK. We will fight to ensure there is no amnesty for Öcalan and the PKK members. We will work with determination to ensure that the first 4 articles, as well as articles 42 and 66 of our Constitution, are not changed. Mr. Bahçeli, my suggestion to you is to follow the path of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, not the path of Vahdettin and Damat Ferit."
