Ümit Özdağ reveals the true purpose of PKK terrorism

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ has warned that Turkey is rapidly entering a process of desertification. Özdağ emphasized that hundreds of lakes across the country have disappeared over the last 20 years and that these losses are irreversible. Stating that Turkey is moving rapidly toward becoming water-poor, Özdağ said, "We must prevent this country from becoming a desert. Our water resources are depleting rapidly, and this situation carries great risks both environmentally and politically."

DESERTIFICATION, FOREST FIRES, AND WATER LOSSES TOGETHER

Making statements during his visit to Bursa, Özdağ drew attention to the drought and water losses caused by forest fires across the country. Following his visit to the Karahıdır neighborhood of Gürsu, Özdağ said, "Our water-poor country is becoming even more arid due to forest fires. Turkey's forests and trees are facing the danger of rapid extinction." Özdağ stated that as the Zafer Party, they believe radical measures must be taken to protect the ecological balance.

"PKK TERRORISM IS TURKEY'S WATER WAR"

Özdağ argued that PKK terrorism is a strategy aimed at targeting Turkey's water resources. Expressing that efforts are being made to sever water resources in the GAP region from Turkey, Özdağ said, "PKK terrorism is part of a water war waged against Turkey. Through this terrorist organization, attempts are being made to sever the region's water resources from Turkey."

Özdağ noted the following in the video:

"Turkey does not have the luxury of sacrificing a single tree, let alone its forests. The forest fire that broke out in Karahıdır neighborhood was not stopped by a miracle intervention or firefighting efforts 30 meters away. God helped this village; it was saved from burning. The current forest fire strategy has gone bankrupt. It needs to be changed from the ground up. In an era where global warming is increasing and sabotage is intensifying, one cannot be successful against fires with classical firefighting methods. The number of personnel is low, and the number of vehicles and equipment is low. In forest fires, the forest floor burns first. Measures to prevent the burning of this floor are not being taken. For this, cooperation can be made with the villagers in the region. This can be achieved with a payment for every hundred kilograms of material collected from the forest floor. In places where villagers are not interested, this can be done through a subcontracting system.

There is an existing pond system, but it is very insufficient. The pond system needs to be developed. Likewise, especially in regions close to the sea, the transfer of seawater should be carried out very quickly through pipelines to be laid in advance. Nothing can be more important in the age of global warming than stopping fires. We must bear the cost of these. We must prevent this country from becoming a desert. We have hundreds of lakes that have disappeared in the last 20 years, and they are gone irreversibly. The country is rapidly moving toward becoming water-poor. We are a country experiencing a water war.

PKK terrorism is also a water war waged against Turkey. Now, through the PKK terrorist organization, the result intended to be achieved by these so-called commissions and the like is the severing of the GAP region's water resources from Turkey. The Turkish nation must know this, and if you take water from a nation, you take everything. Turkey is not utilizing its water resources sufficiently. We advocate that water policies must be changed from the ground up. The new policies we propose in firefighting also form a part of our water policy."

Placing a special emphasis on young people, Özdağ stated that they should take a decisive role in politics, saying, "I do not look at our youth as voters; I see them as my students, my children. In England, people vote at 16; this age limit should also be lowered in Turkey. If young people between the ages of 18-34 go to the ballot box, they can change the fate of Turkey."
