Urgent call from İmamoğlu: 'End this persecution immediately'

Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık, who was arrested as part of the IMM investigation conducted in Istanbul, will undergo surgery today after pathology reports detected symptoms of lymphoma.

As Çalık's health condition continues to deteriorate, it was stated that he has lost 15 kilograms during his time in prison.

SHARP REACTION AND CALL FOR RELEASE FROM İMAMOĞLU

IMM Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu made a statement on social media regarding Çalık's health condition.

İmamoğlu said, "You arrested my brother, who has received cancer treatment twice, based on the testimonies of those accused of crimes. You sent him to a distant prison so he could not see his family. End this persecution immediately."

It was reported that while Murat Çalık was experiencing health problems in prison, the cancer he had battled for many years has recurred. İmamoğlu stated, "Those responsible for Çalık losing his health are those who are punishing this person, who served Beylikdüzü, by keeping him in custody during his trial."
