AKP voter thanks İmamoğlu: 'Good for you for demolishing illegal structures in Üsküdar and refusing to grant zoning permits'

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, along with CHP Fatih Mayoral candidate Mahir Polat , met with shopkeepers and citizens in Laleli, the Grand Bazaar, Sultanhamam, the Spice Bazaar, and the Women's Bazaar.

THEY TOURED THE DISTRICT

İmamoğlu was accompanied on his district tour by CHP Fatih Mayoral candidate Mahir Polat. The first stop for İmamoğlu and Polat in Fatih was Ordu Street in Laleli, which has been closed to vehicle traffic and restored. Receiving information from IMM bureaucrats about the project, which is nearing completion, İmamoğlu and Polat arrived at the city's iconic Grand Bazaar via Ordu Street amidst intense interest from citizens.

Entering the historic bazaar through the Beyazıt gate, İmamoğlu and Polat visited the shopkeepers on Kalpakçılar Street and Yağlıkçılar Street.

At that moment, a citizen pushed through the crowd and called out to İmamoğlu, "I live in Üsküdar. Bless your hands for demolishing those structures on the coast. You deserve all the credit for removing the unfair competition there. I vote for the AK Party, but you deserve it. Congratulations. Well done. You didn't allow construction there, well done." he said.

İmamoğlu replied to the citizen, "Thank you. We will clean up that area even more. It will be like a diamond." Moved by an elderly woman who said, "My son, my dear son. I love you so much," İmamoğlu hugged her and said, "I am honored."

To another citizen who said, "I came from Antalya this morning. I said, 'I wish I could see Mayor Ekrem.' Look at this coincidence," İmamoğlu responded, "How happy that makes me."
