Erdoğan makes admission while announcing Hatay candidates

The AKP announced its district mayoral candidates for Hatay with the participation of President Erdoğan. In his speech, which he began by saying, "I am telling you a truth right now. If the central government and local government do not work hand in hand, if they are not in solidarity, that city will not receive anything," Erdoğan admitted that they did not cooperate with municipalities not held by the ruling party following the earthquake.

President Erdoğan
announced the AKP's district mayoral candidates for Hatay.

President Erdoğan delivered a speech before announcing the candidates. President Erdoğan said, "I am telling you a truth right now. If the central government and local government do not work hand in hand, if they are not in solidarity, that city will not receive anything. Look; right now, Hatay has been left abandoned. Hatay has been left forlorn. Where is the mayor? There isn't one. Now, on the evening of March 31, you will revive a new era with my brother Mehmet Öntürk and his team," he said, soliciting votes for AKP candidates in his capacity as President.

In his speech, which he began by saying, "I am telling you a truth right now," Erdoğan admitted that they did not cooperate with municipalities not held by the ruling party following the earthquake.

Highlights from Erdoğan's speech are as follows:

"We are working with heart and soul to revive our Hatay. Hopefully, we will continue our efforts until the very last of our 390 thousand eligible citizens in the earthquake zone receives the key to their home. From here, we promise our brothers and sisters in Hatay once again; no matter what obstacles we encounter, no matter what difficulties we experience, we will not stop or rest until we make Hatay a safer city than it was before.

The unchanging first item on our government's agenda is the reconstruction of our cities destroyed in the February 6 earthquakes. In the supplementary budget accepted by our Parliament in July, we allocated a resource of 762 billion liras to be used in our cities in the earthquake zone.

We are not among those who only remember our regional provinces like earthquake tourists when the ballot box appears on the horizon. We are not among those who discriminate against our earthquake-victim brothers and sisters based on their voting preferences. We are certainly not among those who kick earthquake victims out of the guesthouses where they are staying just because they did not get the result they wanted from the ballot box, or who throw the aid they provided in our people's faces.

We are an administration that shares the troubles of our earthquake-victim brothers and sisters. We are an alliance that sweats for the prosperity of our nation with all its members, without ever discriminating. Hopefully, we will continue on our path in this way from now on."

HE BLAMED THE OPPOSITION

I am telling you a truth right now. If the central government and local government do not work hand in hand, if they are not in solidarity, that city will not receive anything. Look; right now, Hatay has been left abandoned. Hatay has been left forlorn. Where is the mayor? There isn't one. Now, on the evening of March 31, you will revive a new era with my brother Mehmet Öntürk and his team.

For a long time, Hatay has been virtually wasted in the hands of a CHP mentality that produces talk instead of work and action. Hopefully, with your strong support, we will open the doors to a new era in Hatay on March 31.

Our goal is to prepare our cities for the future with participatory management. As important as the metropolitan municipality is, district municipalities are of critical importance.

I sincerely believe that Hatay will make a fresh start on March 31.

Today, the winds are blowing where the project, which was a product of political engineering called the 'Table of Six' and was imposed on the nation by being dressed up until just yesterday, once stood.

The People's Alliance continues on its path, thank God, despite all the sabotage. Because we came together not around daily interests, but around common values."
