Republican People's Party (CHP) Presidential Candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu appeared before a judge today at the second hearing of the trial in which he is being prosecuted for his remarks regarding Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek. Ekrem İmamoğlu's latest appearance was captured at the hearing held in courtroom number 2 at the Marmara Open Penal Institution in Silivri.
Before being taken into custody on March 19, İmamoğlu had recorded a video addressing the citizens.
HEARING ADJOURNED
In today's hearing, a prison sentence of up to 7 years and 4 months and a political ban were requested for İmamoğlu. The court panel adjourned the hearing to July 16, 2025.
