The CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency Advisory Board meeting was held today at the Beylikduzu Municipality Ataturk Culture and Art Center.

The opening speeches of the program, which was attended by many party members, were delivered by CHP Deputy Chairman Deniz Yavuzyilmaz, CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Ozgur Celik, and IMM Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu.

"TO PREVENT A CHP GOVERNMENT..."

They are trying to make us pay the price out of jealousy for us becoming Turkey's leading party, our overwhelming superiority in local governments, and our successes, and with the feeling that they think the seats belong to them. They are doing everything in their power to prevent a CHP government. In such a period, frankly, what should we do? We must draw strength from each other. We must give strength to each other.

We must raise and increase our solidarity to even higher levels. As our provincial chairman just stated, we must be careful and vigilant against the sedition campaigns carried out on social media against our party. When our party is wounded in this sense, when there are such attacks on our party, each of us must bring our protective identity to the fore.

We must act as its guardians. One should never hesitate to express their warnings to a fellow party member in the harshest way when necessary. A process is being managed regarding our party, which is being subjected to rumors that 'a convention could happen at any moment.' It is crystal clear that the source of these rumors is circles outside the party, but it is the duty of all of us not to add fuel to the fire of gossip.

"WE HAVE LEFT IT BEHIND"

The CHP is, of course, a democratic party, and if the conditions arise, a convention or general assemblies can certainly be on the agenda at any time. There is no aspect of this to be debated. It is a democratic right and is used freely, but calling for a convention and coming out to openly start collecting signatures is something else. Producing and spreading the rumor that 'a convention could happen at any moment' and acting as if the party has such an agenda is something else.

It is absolutely unacceptable to show a party that emerged from the elections held just 8 months ago as Turkey's leading party, that has matured and completed a statute convention just 3 months ago that could have also been elective, and that is seen to maintain its first place in all credible polls and to permanently raise its traditional vote percentage, as if it had a need for an extraordinary convention.

Those who behave this way under the country's current conditions will never find a place for themselves in the hearts and consciences of the people. We have left behind the days when we were known as the 'party of conventions.' From now on, we will not be the 'party of convention rumors' either; we will fight extremely hard where it should not be.
