Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made important statements regarding the agenda during his appearance on A Haber, where he also commented on the war policies pursued by Israel. Minister Fidan also touched upon the recent progress with Egypt, noting that the two countries are friendly and brotherly nations.

"IT WAS A HISTORICAL ANOMALY FOR OUR NATIONS TO BE AT ODDS"

Minister Fidan spoke as follows regarding the normalization process between Turkey and Egypt:

“The process of normalizing our relations with Egypt is largely complete. We are truly seeing the benefits of this for both sides. Essentially, Egypt and Turkey are two great countries connected by historical ties. It was a historical anomaly for our nations to be at odds for a while.

The fact that political leaders have shown historical responsibility and taken steps with a vision to resolve this anomaly is an admirable strategic move.

Normalizing our relations with both the United Arab Emirates and Egypt and moving them to an advanced level has also shown a positive effect in Libya. This normalization will also show its positive effects in other countries and on other issues. We also need to be in serious cooperation with Egypt regarding the security of the Mediterranean.”

"WE HAVE AN AGREEMENT TO PROVIDE UAVS TO EGYPT"

Stating that there is an agreement between the two countries for Turkey to provide Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to Egypt, Minister Fidan said:

"There are many Turkish investors in Egypt, and we want to increase these investments. Egypt is a brotherly and friendly country for us, and a country with potential. Turkish investors also find the environment in Egypt to be exceptionally suitable for them. When I went there, I held a long meeting with Turkish businesspeople and listened to them at length. And some facilitating measures need to be developed for these investments to increase even further.

In terms of regional security, especially regarding the Israel-Palestine issue, it is extremely important. Our relations are important for Egypt to receive certain support and certain technologies. We have an agreement, in particular, for Turkey to provide Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and other technologies."
