Özgür Özel visits İmamoğlu: 'I invite Istanbul to stand by Mayor Ekrem'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel visited Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu today.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, who attended the funeral ceremony of Saadet Party Kocaeli Deputy Hasan Bitmez at Fatih Mosque, later arrived at Saraçhane to visit IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.

CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik also accompanied Özel during the visit.

Making statements to the press here, Özel said, "Last time, on March 31, they voted to end waste. I believe those honest hearts who love Istanbul will once again deliver justice. We have invited everyone who loves Istanbul to stand by this Mayor who loves Istanbul."

Ekrem İmamoğlu said, "First of all, I am very happy to host our esteemed Chairman in our Saraçhane building, the home of Istanbulites, today. I would like to thank our Chairman, our Central Executive Board (MYK), and our Party Assembly. As of March 31, 2024, we will demonstrate our determination to both complete our ongoing projects and produce new projects for the next 5 years, with the 2019 Istanbul alliance continuing even more strongly. May our path be clear, good luck to us all."

4 CANDIDATES HAD BEEN ANNOUNCED

The CHP Party Assembly (PM) approved the re-nomination of IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu yesterday.

In addition, Mansur Yavaş was determined as the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate, Mustafa Bozbey as the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate, and Ahmet Akın as the Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate.
