PKK announces dissolution! Bahçeli's 'we cannot stand side by side' remark back on the agenda

 The process that began with the call made by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli on October 22, 2024, has yielded results today, and the PKK has announced the dissolution of the organization.

In his speech at his party's group meeting in October, Bahçeli had stated, "If the isolation of the terrorist leader is lifted, let him come to the TBMM DEM Party Group Meeting and shout that terrorism has completely ended and the organization has been abolished. If he shows this resolve and determination, the path for legal arrangements regarding the use of the right to hope and for him to benefit from it should be opened wide."

Shortly after this statement, Devlet Bahçeli had also called for the DEM Party delegation to be granted permission to go to İmralı. In the process that began with Bahçeli's call, the first application to meet with terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan was made on November 26, 2024.

On December 27, 2024, Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that a positive response had been given to the DEM Party's request for a meeting.

One day later, DEM Party Istanbul Deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Van Deputy Pervin Buldan, who went to İmralı, held a meeting with terrorist organization PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan after 4.5 years.

By the end of February, the letter from terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan was read at a hotel in Istanbul.

DISSOLUTION DECISION ARRIVED

It was announced that the expected PKK congress had convened. It was stated that the congress was held between May 5-7. The decisions taken at the congress were announced today. The PKK has officially dissolved itself and decided to lay down its arms.

At the end of the process, Bahçeli's speech from years ago became the agenda. In the statement he made years ago, Bahçeli included the following expressions:

"No honorable and principled fellow nationalist can stand side by side or be in the same alignment with the PKK, the HDP, or the scoundrels who wait for an opportunity to shroud the Turk!"
