Sharp reaction from Özgür Özel to Yaşar Güler! 'Either he will come to his senses, or we will make him come to his senses'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel shared a video on his X account with the note 'Have you learned nothing from July 15?'.

Özel reacted to the statement by Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler regarding the lieutenants who refused to pin a picture of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on their lapels during the November 10 ceremonies at the Tuzla Infantry School: "One of our student officers does not wear the photo he is supposed to wear on his lapel and puts forward an excuse like 'I didn't have a safety pin, so I couldn't wear it'."

"IT FELL TO GÜLER TO STATE THE LIEUTENANTS' EXCUSE"

Stating that he is following the events at the Tuzla Infantry School closely, Özel said, "The situation of the 3 lieutenants who refused to wear Atatürk badges on their lapels that day and the 4 friends who objected to these 3 lieutenants had come to the agenda. I had heard that an investigation had been opened and I have been following the matter closely since that day. I learned that all 7 of them, along with their superiors, have been suspended. It fell to Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler to state, publicize, and defend the excuse of the lieutenants who refused to wear Atatürk badges on their lapels," he said.

"HAVE YOU LEARNED NOTHING FROM JULY 15?"

Özel used the following expressions in the video he shared;

"If it were due to the lack of a safety pin, everyone would know that and that need would be met immediately. They certainly know what their intentions are, why they didn't wear it, and fundamentally what they are aiming for. Do you know what the part that smells even worse is? 4-5 days before this statement, Yeni Şafak Newspaper used FETÖ tactics by reporting it as a 'junta of lieutenants', labeling not those who did not wear Atatürk's picture on their lapels, but those who reacted to them as a 'junta', and prepared the psychological infrastructure for these news stories that would emerge today. If you open Atatürk's army to these sects and communities, if you allow them to settle there, if you allow them to organize there, when the day comes, they will show the insolence of not wearing Atatürk's picture.

'EITHER HE WILL COME TO HIS SENSES OR WE WILL MAKE HIM COME TO HIS SENSES'

Have you learned nothing from July 15? On July 15, it was not those who defended Atatürk's picture, but those who did not want to wear Atatürk's picture, those who harbored hostility toward Atatürk, and those who hated Atatürk who attempted a coup. Then what happened? You all scrambled to embrace Atatürk's photos. Even the ruling party started hanging the picture they had never hung before from their balconies. Now you have started to give face again to those who are uncomfortable with Atatürk's photo, to spoil them again, to flatter them again. We will not allow this. I am following this matter very closely. We have no tolerance for someone we respect due to the duties he has performed, the position he holds, and the forces he is affiliated with to do this.
