Thanks to MHP and AKP from DEM Party!

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's handshake with the DEM Party group at the opening of the Turkish Grand National Assembly brought with it discussions of "Is a new solution process beginning?" While the political arena is reeling from this agenda, statements and calls from politicians have come one after another today.

MHP leader Bahçeli called out, "Let the head of the terrorists come and declare that terrorism has ended and the organization has been liquidated, but let no one expect the state to sit at the table with terrorism." DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan said, "Then lift the isolation, let us see what Mr. Öcalan says to his own organization and his own friends."

Following all these developments, DEM Party Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and MHP leader Bahçeli in his speech in Parliament. Önder's statements are as follows:

"Actually, the well is not deep, the rope is short. As a brother of yours who has personally paid a price on this issue, I personally thank the President, Mr. Devlet Bahçeli, and everyone who has shown willingness for peace, for trying to bring our deep-rooted historical issue to the axis of dialogue for the first time."
