Yeniden Refah Party Chairman Fatih Erbakan answered journalists' questions following his meeting with AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan at the AKP Headquarters.

EXCHANGE OF IDEAS REGARDING ELECTIONS

Stating that the meeting took place upon Erdoğan's invitation, Erbakan said, "We held discussions both regarding the developments in Gaza, which is unfortunately a bleeding wound for all of us, and regarding the Turkish agenda. We also exchanged various ideas regarding the upcoming elections.

I hope it will be auspicious and lead to positive results. I find it more appropriate to suffice with this much at this stage. Again, when the time comes and when deemed necessary, the necessary statements will be made in a more detailed manner," he said.

In response to the question, "Will Yeniden Refah Party not field mayoral candidates in Ankara and Istanbul, and could there be an alliance with the AK Party?" Erbakan replied, "Of course, some issues regarding the election were negotiated. However, as I said, it would be more appropriate to suffice with this much at this stage.

Naturally, we also need to conduct evaluations and consultations with our organization and authorized bodies. We hope it will lead to positive results. When the time comes and when deemed necessary, a more detailed statement will be made."

Upon the question, "Will there be another meeting soon?" Erbakan said, "No."
