Visit to MHP's Feti Yıldız from Ahmet Özer's lawyer: 'My esteemed senior colleague...'

Prof. Dr. Hasan Sınar, one of the lawyers for imprisoned Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer, visited Feti Yıldız, the MHP Deputy Chairman responsible for Legal and Election Affairs. Sınar announced the meeting on his social media account and drew attention to Yıldız's statements on universal law and the right to a fair trial, given his background as a legal expert.

Sınar's post is as follows:

"Today in Ankara, I visited my esteemed senior colleague, Mr. Feti Yıldız, the Nationalist Movement Party Deputy Chairman responsible for Legal and Election Affairs, and presented him with my newly published book.

With his identity as a legal expert, Mr. Feti Yıldız stands out, especially in recent times, as the voice of the “reasonable majority” in our country with his very important observations regarding universal law and the right to a fair trial, and with his valuable contributions to overcoming the polarization and irrationality in the political climate.

I would like to thank the esteemed chairman for both his kind hospitality and his very valuable observations and assessments regarding the judicial processes on the agenda..."

YILDIZ HAD CALLED ÖZER 'HOCA'

In a statement made before Ahmet Özer's hearing, Feti Yıldız had emphasized the historical unity of Turks and Kurds and referred to Özer as 'hoca' (teacher/professor). Although Özer was released in the 'city consensus' case, his detention continues due to another investigation.
