Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel met with his party's metropolitan municipality mayors and provincial chairs at the Local Governments Workshop held at the CHP Headquarters.

It was learned that Özel listened to the suggestions and demands of the chairs during the meeting.

According to a report by Mustafa Bildircin from BirGün, the metropolitan mayors complained about the high share transferred from municipal budget revenues to Development Agencies. The mayors requested support from Özel to bring the issue of reducing this share to the agenda. On the other hand, what could be done regarding communication strategies in the new term was also discussed at the metropolitan mayors' meeting. In this context, it was noted that all CHP-led metropolitan municipalities would act in coordination.

ÖZEL'S MEETING WITH ERDOĞAN

It was stated that Özel also sought the opinions of the metropolitan mayors regarding the agenda of the meeting he will hold with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The mayors reported that, in addition to the legal regulation regarding the Development Agency share, projects that have been waiting for President Erdoğan's signature on his desk for a long time should also be brought to the agenda.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel left the meeting held by the mayors and joined the meeting of the provincial chairs. Providing information to the provincial chairs regarding intra-party disciplinary processes, Özel informed his party members about the disciplinary process to be applied to individuals who, despite being CHP members, worked against the CHP candidate in the March 31 elections. According to information obtained from the provincial chairs, the process of reporting complaints against names who worked against the CHP during the election period to the Headquarters has begun.

It was also learned that Özel gave the message to the provincial chairs, "The election is over, start working tomorrow." It was also stated that Özel told the provincial chairs, "Put your all into 2028. Do not fall into arrogance, do not exaggerate the election success."
