What did Kılıçdaroğlu say about the party congress at the PM meeting? Here is what emerged from the corridors

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was brought to the head of the party by a court decision amid the ongoing absolute nullity crisis in the CHP, chaired the Party Assembly (PM) meeting.

27 PM members close to the elected CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had resigned, making a move for an extraordinary congress.

In the meeting held with the remaining PM members, the congress process, the tension within the party, as well as the evacuation of the CHP Headquarters by a police operation following the absolute nullity ruling and the expulsion of 9 deputies were discussed.

"IT WAS WRONG, I ACCEPT THE CRITICISMS"

According to the report by Cumhuriyet, some PM members speaking at the meeting stated that the police raid on the party headquarters during the administrative vacuum following the court decision was a wrong step and that this situation harmed the party. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu used the expression, "It was wrong. I accept the criticisms." Additionally, detailed information regarding the events was requested from Bursa Deputy Orhan Sarıbal, who was at the headquarters that day.

POLICE INTERVENTION CRITICIZED

A few PM members argued that some individuals who took office temporarily until the new Central Executive Board (MYK) was formed created tension in the party, and that this administration, which they described as a "hawkish team," took some erroneous steps. It was stated that matters began to be handled more sensibly once the MYK took office. The PM members reached a consensus that the party should overcome what happened together and in solidarity.

EXPULSION PROCESS OF 9 DEPUTIES DISCUSSED

The process regarding the 9 deputies recently expelled from the party was also discussed at the meeting. While some PM members claimed that the process was rushed and that some incorrect names were caught in the crossfire, other members stated that these expulsions were necessary due to the uncompromising attitude of the Özgür Özel administration.

WHAT DID KILIÇDAROĞLU SAY ABOUT THE CONGRESS?

The congress process was another important agenda item of the meeting. The view that the injunction would prevent the holding of an extraordinary congress came to the fore. It is claimed that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu commented on the congress, saying, "It should be started immediately if possible." The MYK was tasked with working on how the ordinary congress process will proceed.
