What will CHP do if İYİ Party does not accept cooperation? Özgür Özel explains...

CHP leader Özgür Özel met with journalists following the camp he held with deputies in Antalya and answered their questions.

According to the report in Cumhuriyet; when asked about the İYİ Party's General Administrative Board (GİK) meeting today, where they will discuss cooperation with the CHP in the local elections, and the possibility of cooperation with the İYİ Party, Özel made the following assessments:

"WE WILL QUICKLY ANNOUNCE OUR CANDIDATES"

“We have two Plan A's. The first is, if the İYİ Party accepts, to sit down and quickly conduct alliance negotiations. Our second Plan A is, if the İYİ Party does not accept, to quickly determine our candidates and hit the field. We are not designing anything based on the İYİ Party's decision. We will not experience any tension, disappointment, or coldness with the İYİ Party after the decision they make. We will meet their decision with respect.”

Describing his meeting with Meral Akşener, Özel stated, “She asked me, 'What are you proposing?' I said, 'If you lift your decision, let's set up a table and sit at it; let's talk about Turkey, starting with Istanbul, Ankara, and the 11 metropolitan cities.' We offered them a working table.”

“WE ARE WAITING FOR HEDEP”

When asked whether cooperation negotiations would be held with HEDEP, Özel replied, “The co-chairmen of HEDEP had called me separately to congratulate me. They said, 'We would also like to visit you.' They said, 'Our schedule for public meetings is busy, we will request an appointment afterwards.' Since they said 'We will request an appointment,' we are waiting. When they request it, we will give an appointment and we will meet.”
