Work resumes in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey after the elections

The General Assembly of the TBMM, which paused its activities due to the local elections on March 31, will reconvene on Tuesday, April 16.

In its weekly session, the General Assembly will address a legislative proposal containing regulations in the field of energy.

According to the proposal, natural gas produced domestically or imported from different sources will be able to be liquefied in Turkey and marketed to world markets as LNG.

Projects prepared to increase energy efficiency will be supported by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, provided that the support does not exceed 15 million liras and covers a maximum of 30 percent of the project costs.

Excluding reservoirs and wetlands used for drinking and utility water supply, as well as coastal and shoreline strips covered under the Coastal Law, renewable energy production plants will be able to be established without the need for zoning plans in areas declared as renewable energy resource areas by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources in seas, dam lakes, artificial lakes, and natural lakes.

In places where a state of emergency has been declared or which have been accepted as disaster areas affecting general life, temporary electricity energy demands will be met within the framework of determined procedures and principles to ensure uninterrupted electricity services.

Group meetings of political parties with groups in the Parliament will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday. AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is expected to attend his party's group meeting on Wednesday, April 17.
