Statement from Yeniden Refah Party on Istanbul: 'Does not reflect the truth'
In a statement issued by the Yeniden Refah Party, claims that the party has reached an agreement with the AKP and will not field a candidate in Istanbul were denied. It was also stated that "necessary consultations are ongoing."
Ömer Faruk Ak, Deputy Chairman of Local Administrations at the Yeniden Refah Party Headquarters, denied claims that they had decided not to field a candidate in Istanbul for the local elections. Ak stated that negotiations are ongoing. The YRP also stated in a post on its social media account that 'evaluations are continuing.'
Ak noted the following in his statement on his social media account:
“Claims that our Yeniden Refah Party will not field a candidate in Istanbul do not reflect the truth. Our party's authorized bodies continue to carry out the necessary consultations on this matter.”
