YRP leader Fatih Erbakan reiterates call for early elections: 'Bring the ballot box as soon as possible'
Speaking at his party's provincial council meeting, New Welfare Party (YRP) leader Fatih Erbakan called on the AKP government to hold early elections. Erbakan stated, "Why should this nation keep you in power? Bring the ballot box as soon as possible, let the change happen, and let the nation reunite with the National View (Milli Görüş)."
New Welfare Party (YRP) Chairman Fatih Erbakan attended his party's provincial council meeting held at the Eyüpsultan Culture and Art Center.
Delivering a speech there, Erbakan said that the memorandum of understanding they had presented before the elections was not being followed.
"BRING THE BALLOT BOX AS SOON AS POSSIBLE"
Stating that the tax burden on citizens has increased by 200 percent and interest rates have "skyrocketed," Erbakan said, "It is time for this nation to reunite with the National View, with the New Welfare Party. For that reason, there must be an early election as soon as possible. Now, in the Medium-Term Program, they are saying, 'If you keep me in power, if I remain in power, I will continue to implement the debt, interest, price hike, and tax economy for the next three years.' Why should this nation keep you in power? Bring the ballot box as soon as possible, let the change happen, and let the nation reunite with the National View."
Explaining the work they would do if they came to power, Erbakan said the following:
"What we will do is already visible in the 50-year history of the National View. It will be the same again. There is no need to reinvent the wheel. The National View's economic model will be implemented. We will establish a fair economic model where there is justice in distribution. One of the most important things we will do is to prevent waste in the public sector. We will also put national resource packages into effect. When these happen, what results is a balanced budget."
Stating that they would no longer borrow money or pay interest with a balanced budget, Erbakan said, "Our friends have calculated what could have been done with the 598 billion dollars in interest they paid over 21 years. 402 Osmangazi Bridges, 688 Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridges, 4,200 F-35 fighter jets, 22 Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plants, and 180 Togg automobile factories could have been built."
"THE NEXT TARGET IS TURKEY"
Touching upon Israel's ongoing aggression in the region, Erbakan claimed that after Iraq, Gaza, and Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, and Iran would be attacked, and that the target afterwards would be Turkey.
Fatih Erbakan voiced his demands for the closure of US bases in İncirlik and Kürecik, and for a complete end to fuel transfers and trade with Israel via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline.
