Bad news for those traveling to Europe: Visa applications surge
Bad news for citizens wanting to travel to Europe. Visa agencies in countries such as Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands are experiencing high demand.
For those in Turkey wishing to travel abroad, obtaining a visa appointment for Schengen Area countries is becoming increasingly difficult. According to visa agencies, finding an appointment can take time due to the high volume of visa applications, particularly for countries like Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.
RISE IN VISA DEMANDS
Stating that it has become harder to find visa appointments for the Schengen Area compared to last year, especially for Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands, agency manager Erol Sağdıç says, “There are several reasons for this situation: First, the visa processing capacity of consulates is limited, and they are struggling to meet the increasing demand. Second, Germany’s skilled and unskilled immigration law, which was launched at the end of last year, has caused a rise in visa demands.”
WATCH OUT FOR THESE DATES
It has also been learned that appointments are fully booked until mid-April for Spain and Italy, and until March 30 for Germany.
