According to the regulation published in the Official Gazette, the amendments to the Regulation on Private Hospitals are summarized as follows:
The changes are as follows:
- A requirement has been introduced that at least one-third of the investors in private hospitals must be healthcare professionals.
- Private hospitals will be able to issue rest reports, prescriptions, medical device and equipment usage reports, and driver health reports for the patients they treat. However, they will not be able to issue status report certificates except in cases permitted by the Ministry.
- To be authorized to issue status report health certificates, private hospitals will be required to have specialist physicians in specific branches and to employ them on a full-time basis.
- The deadline set for the licensing of private hospitals has been extended until 31/12/2024.
