Decision to regulate forest boundaries covering 13 provinces published in the Official Gazette
It has been decided to remove certain areas in Bingöl, Bursa, Elazığ, Eskişehir, Kastamonu, Kocaeli, Konya, Kütahya, Manisa, Muğla, Sinop, Tokat, and Zonguldak from forest boundaries. The decision in question was published in the Official Gazette.
In the Official Gazette, regarding the Presidential decisions shared, certain areas located in the provinces of Bingöl, Bursa, Elazığ, Eskişehir, Kastamonu, Kocaeli, Konya, Kütahya, Manisa, Muğla, Sinop, Tokat, and Zonguldak will be kept outside of forest boundaries.
DECISION IN THE OFFICIAL GAZETTE
The decision states that, provided it is not less than twice the area of the places kept outside the forest boundaries, real estate under the authority and disposal of the state or in the private ownership of the Treasury will be allocated by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change (General Directorate of National Property) to the General Directorate of Forestry for the purpose of establishing forests.

According to the Presidential Decree published in the January 18, 2024 issue of the Official Gazette, it was stated that millions of square meters of forest land in 13 provinces, including Bursa, Eskişehir, Elazığ, Bingöl, Sinop, Kastamonu, Kütahya, Muğla, and Zonguldak, were removed from forest status.
