Meteorological warning for precipitation in 28 cities

The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) has shared its daily weather forecast. According to the MGM's statement, the country is expected to be partly to very cloudy, with precipitation forecast for the east of the Marmara region, the south and east of the Aegean, the east of the Eastern Mediterranean and the eastern surroundings of Antalya, the north of Central Anatolia, the Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia regions, and the Southeastern Anatolia region (excluding Mardin).

HEAVY PRECIPITATION AND WIND WARNING

The precipitation, which is expected to be locally heavy in the Western Black Sea coastal areas as well as in Karabük, Kastamonu, Kocaeli, Sakarya, and the northern surroundings of Bolu, is expected to fall generally as rain and showers, and as sleet and snow in the higher elevations of the Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia regions.

While air temperatures are expected to remain around seasonal norms in the western parts of the country and 3-5 degrees above normal in the east, the wind is expected to blow from southerly directions, and from northerly directions in the northwestern parts, generally light to occasionally moderate; it is expected to blow from the west and northwest on the Western and Central Black Sea coasts, and from the southwest in the interior parts of the Central and Eastern Black Sea, occasionally strong (40-60 km/h).

A warning for heavy precipitation and strong winds was also issued by the Meteorological Service. The MGM's warnings stated the following:

* "As the precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in the Western Black Sea coastal areas as well as in Karabük, Kastamonu, Kocaeli, Sakarya, and the northern surroundings of Bolu, one should be careful and take precautions against potential adverse conditions.

• As the wind is expected to blow from the west and northwest on the Western and Central Black Sea coasts, and from the southwest in the interior parts of the Central and Eastern Black Sea, occasionally strong (40 - 60 km/h), one should be careful and take precautions against potential adverse conditions."
