Minister Uraloğlu announced: It will be built in 30 metropolitan cities

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated in his announcement that the Çamlıca Tower model will be expanded across Turkey. Similar structures to the Çamlıca Tower, which is the tallest television and radio tower in Europe, will be implemented in 30 metropolitan cities as part of the "30-Province Joint Tower Infrastructure Project."

The new towers will be designed with high capacity, compatible with FM, DAB+, and DVB-T2 broadcasting technologies. This project aims to remove old antennas and masts that cause visual pollution in cities. Preparations for tower construction have begun in Trabzon's Boztepe, while the process of taking over two transmitter masts belonging to broadcasters in Bursa's Osmangazi district has been initiated. In Tekirdağ's Süleymanpaşa district, an existing mast was taken over, and broadcasting commenced as of January 2025.

Minister Uraloğlu stated that these towers will increase energy efficiency with their environmentally friendly design and will operate with lower carbon emissions. "By providing broadcasts from a single center, we will expose our citizens to lower electromagnetic field values. Thus, we will create city silhouettes that are both safe in terms of health and modern in terms of architecture," he said.

With the towers to be built or taken over in cities such as Ankara, İzmir, Adana, Kayseri, Antalya, Gaziantep, Konya, Samsun, Diyarbakır, and Sivas, many analog and digital broadcasters will receive services from a single center. Uraloğlu expressed that these projects will ensure cities achieve a contemporary appearance both technologically and visually, and that citizens will have access to higher-quality broadcasts.

Located on Küçük Çamlıca Hill in Istanbul's Üsküdar district, the Çamlıca Tower holds the title of the tallest radio-television tower in Europe with a height of 369 meters. While the 49-story reinforced concrete structure reaches a height of 221 meters, the antenna section on top consists of 168 meters. The tower features two restaurants and an observation deck.
