Ministry signals hike in social assistance payments

According to the report on Kamubulteni.com: Citizens receiving social support are curious about the support amounts to be paid in 2023. While no official statement has been made on this matter yet, research conducted in November offers some estimates regarding what the increase rates might be. The Ministry of Family and Social Services will deliver the final social assistance payments of 2023 to eligible recipients. The dates these payments will be made and the amount of the increase will be clarified in the coming days.

HOW WILL IT BE CALCULATED?

The inflation figures to be announced in December and the six-month inflation rates are of great importance for civil servant salaries and social assistance payments. The December inflation data will be announced at the beginning of January and will finalize the civil servant salary increase.

This raise will also directly affect social assistance payments and determine the amount of support payments. The increase rate for social assistance payments will be calculated based on the civil servant salary coefficient.

SIGNAL OF A HIKE

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan announced that they anticipate an increase of approximately 50% in civil servant salaries. If the increase predicted by Minister Işıkhan occurs in salaries, it is estimated that a 50% hike will also be applied to social support payments.
