Monthly late payment interest rate for public receivables updated

According to the notification published in the Official Gazette, the deferral interest rate applied to public receivables has been increased from 24 percent to 36 percent.

NEW REGULATION INTRODUCED

Accordingly, for public receivables to be deferred based on applications made before today, and for public receivables that were deferred before the publication date of the notification and are being paid in accordance with the deferral terms, the old deferral interest rate (24 percent) will continue to be applied from the date of application, provided they are paid in accordance with the deferral terms.

Similarly, in cases where a deferral request was made before today and the request was accepted and the public receivables were deferred, but the deferral was subsequently violated, if a new deferral is granted upon new requests (the deferral is considered valid), the old deferral interest rate (24 percent) will apply until today, while the 36 percent deferral interest rate will apply to installment amounts that must be paid after today.

On the other hand, with the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette, the late payment surcharge rate under Law No. 6183 on the Procedure for the Collection of Public Receivables has been set at 3.5 percent, to be applied separately for each month.
