New age limit for civil servants: 35-year-old regulation in effect

With the new regulation published in the Official Gazette, significant changes have been made to the Civil Servants Law. From now on, a 35-year age limit will be required for the recruitment of civil servants who will be subject to special competitive examinations for the profession. This change will also apply to public institutions established by laws or Presidential decrees.

Ministerial advisors may be appointed to ministries to provide consultancy to ministers. These advisors will work directly under the minister and will serve for a term limited to the minister's tenure. However, they may also be dismissed before the minister's term expires.

HEAVY FINES FOR FALSE REPORTS

According to the new law, a fine of 1,500 TL will be imposed on those who make false calls to the 112 Emergency Call Center. If it is determined by the teams arriving at the scene that the report is false, an administrative fine of 15,000 TL will be imposed on the individual by provincial governors.

Furthermore, members who will serve in regulatory boards such as the Information and Communication Technologies Authority and the Public Procurement Authority will be required to have not held positions in the management or supervisory bodies of any political party, or to have resigned from such positions.

Regulations regarding the establishment and operation of the Court of Jurisdictional Disputes have also been made. Accordingly, the President of the Court of Jurisdictional Disputes will be elected by the Constitutional Court from among its own members.
