New regulation for the food sector from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has implemented an important regulation to prevent consumers from encountering misleading products in the food sector. According to the new regulation published in the Official Gazette, the sale of products that give the impression of being fresh lemon juice or pomegranate molasses but do not contain these ingredients has been banned. This decision will be implemented across all 81 provinces in Turkey.

Ministry officials stated that this regulation was adopted to ensure that consumers have access to healthier and more reliable products. It was noted that products frequently encountered on market shelves that appear to be lemon juice or pomegranate molasses but do not actually contain these fruits can mislead consumers and pose health risks.

The new regulation requires companies operating in the food sector to be more careful regarding product labeling and ingredient information. It was reported that inspections will be increased and the sale of such products will be prevented to ensure that consumers do not encounter misleading products.
