Number of detentions in Güllü investigation rises to 5! Flash statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor

New developments have occurred in the investigation conducted by the Yalova Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the death of Gül Tut, who lost her life after falling from the window of a terrace apartment in a 6-story building on Vali Akı Street in the Harmanlar neighborhood of Yalova's Çınarcık district on September 26. Following the detention of Tut's daughter, Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter, and her friend Sultan Nur Ulu, who was stated to be in the same room at the time of the incident, on allegations of "intentional homicide," Ulu's father, Arif Ulu, was also detained in the Gebze district of Kocaeli.

It was learned that Arif Ulu has a criminal record for various offenses and was subject to a supervised release measure.

With the apprehension of two more individuals who were determined to have been in contact with Gülter and Ulu while they were in Istanbul, the number of people in custody has risen to 5.

"NO ONE HAS TOLD THE TRUTH YET"

During this process, Yalova Chief Public Prosecutor Duygu Bayar Öksüz emphasized in a statement to members of the press that there is a confidentiality order on the file regarding the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) report that has been reflected in the press concerning the investigation. Öksüz stated that it is not possible for any person to access the report in question.

Chief Public Prosecutor Öksüz stated that a lot of information without any basis in truth is circulating in the media, which creates a false perception in the public, and spoke as follows:

"No one has reached any report. There is a confidentiality order on the file. We are keeping it confidential. No one has told the truth yet," she said.

Stating that the incident in which artist Gül Tut lost her life has not been evaluated as either a fall or a suicide from the beginning, Öksüz expressed that the suspicious aspects of the matter are being investigated.

Öksüz also stated that the suspects in custody have not yet given statements and that the true nature of the incident has not yet been uncovered.
