Professional groups seeking green passports brought to the agenda in Parliament

The issue of green passports, which has been on the agenda of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey for some time, is being discussed again due to the demands of various professional groups.

CHP Antalya Deputy Aykut Kaya stated in a press conference held at Parliament that all teachers, not just those in the public sector but also those in the private sector, should have access to green passports. Kaya said, "Teachers are one of the most important professional groups building the future of our country. They deserve all these rights and more."

Kaya also proposed that the service period required to obtain a green passport under current regulations be reduced to 3 years. He emphasized that it is also necessary to provide sufficient per diem for teachers who will go abroad for education and training purposes.

Another passport request came from pharmacists. Making evaluations on the occasion of May 14, Pharmacists' Day, CHP Giresun Deputy and Pharmacist Elvan Işık Gezmiş pointed out that her colleagues worked selflessly during extraordinary periods such as the pandemic and earthquakes.

Gezmiş stated in her address to the TBMM, "It is important that pharmacists, who worked selflessly during the pandemic and earthquakes and provide 24/7 service for public health, develop their professional knowledge and skills and stay informed about new drugs, treatment methods, and developments in pharmacy practice. In this respect, it is the right of pharmacists to have green passports in order to increase interactions and collaborations that will strengthen Turkey's representation in the field of international health services." she said.
