Real estate agents offer commission support to couples getting married

With 2025 declared the 'year of the family,' real estate agents have begun offering support to couples following the introduction of marriage loans and household goods assistance. Real estate agents aim to alleviate the financial burden on newlywed couples during the process of finding a rental home.

Hakan Akçam, President of the All Real Estate Consultants Union, stated in an interview with Haber Global, 'Normally, we charge an equivalent amount as a service fee for a 30,000 TL rental transaction. However, due to the year of the family, we will not be charging this fee. Couples receive approval after applying to the ministry with an official document proving their marriage, and a barcode is generated. We will not charge a rental service fee to couples who bring this barcode to us.'

Evaluating the scope of the practice, Akçam stated, 'We believe there are 100 thousand people who meet the criteria. When we calculate based on a monthly rent of 25 thousand TL, we will be providing approximately 2.5 billion TL in support.' This initiative aims to ease the financial burdens of couples preparing for marriage.
