Regulations for urban transformation published in the Official Gazette
The law containing regulations for urban transformation has been published in the Official Gazette.
The law aims to accelerate judicial processes regarding buildings that could not be demolished due to requests for the cancellation of demolition decisions in the earthquake zone.
DEADLINE SET FOR DEMOLITION
Within the scope of the law, which allows for the determination of risky structures to be carried out ex officio by the Urban Transformation Presidency or the administration, owners will be given a period not exceeding 90 days at once to have the risky structures demolished. If the evacuation of the structures is obstructed, it will be carried out with the assistance of law enforcement.
Urban transformation can be carried out based on a decision taken by the owners with a simple majority.
BUILDING PERMIT TO BE ISSUED
Provided that the implementation zoning plan and architectural, static, installation, and all kinds of technical responsibilities are assumed by the Urban Transformation Presidency and ownership is documented, a building permit will be issued within 30 days.
It will be possible to appoint expert witnesses who meet the minimum requirements but are not included in the relevant regional expert witness lists.
