5 billion pound lawsuit against Sony! Compensation opportunity arises for PlayStation users
A lawsuit filed against Sony in the UK could offer a significant compensation opportunity for PlayStation users. The court will scrutinize Sony's pricing policies.
In the UK, Sony is facing accusations of unfair pricing and creating a monopoly for digital games and add-on content on the PlayStation Store. The 5 billion pound lawsuit filed as a result of these allegations could lead to compensation payments of up to 500 pounds for more than 8 million PlayStation users.

THE ALLEGATIONS AGAINST SONY ARE AS FOLLOWS:
- Establishing a monopoly in the sale of digital games and content.
- Keeping game prices artificially high.
- Preventing price drops by imposing strict conditions on developers and publishers.
WHO IS COVERED BY THE RIGHT TO COMPENSATION?
If the case is decided against Sony, everyone who used PlayStation between August 19, 2016, and August 19, 2022, will automatically be eligible for compensation.
It is stated that the compensation amount will vary between 67 and 562 pounds, and users will not need to make any application.
Sony is expected to defend itself in court. If no agreement is reached between the parties, the trial will begin on March 2, 2026, and the hearings are expected to last approximately 8 weeks.
