An era is coming to an end
Sony has announced that it will terminate Twitter/X integration on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles in just a few days. So, what does this mean?
PlayStation will no longer allow posts you want to tweet on PS5. On Monday, PS4 and PS5 owners received a message stating that the integration of X, formerly known as Twitter, will end next week.
The message from Sony stated,"As of November 13, 2023, X (formerly known as Twitter) integration will no longer work on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles".
According to the report on Chip Online, Sony is not the first console manufacturer to remove Twitter integration. Microsoft removed this feature from Xbox consoles and the Game Bar on Windows in April., however, players were still able to upload their latest achievements to Twitter via the Xbox app. As always, Nintendo led the way on this last year by removing Facebook and Twitter login options for the Switch.
