Apple announces: Is a search engine rival to Google on the way?

While Google's success in the search engine market has piqued the interest of many companies, entering this sector carries significant risks. So, is Apple, which has made a name for itself for years with its iPhone models and ranks among the world's wealthiest companies, planning an initiative in this field? Apple senior executive Eddy Cue has made statements regarding the matter!

WILL APPLE LAUNCH A SEARCH ENGINE TO RIVAL GOOGLE?

In testimony before a U.S. federal court in Washington D.C. last week, Eddy Cue emphasized that Apple currently has no plans to develop a search engine to rival Google. According to reports from MacRumors, the reasons for Apple not entering this field are as follows:

Developing a search engine would mean a "multi-billion dollar" cost and a "multi-year" process for Apple. This could cause the company's resources and employees to be diverted from "other growth areas that are prioritized."

As the rapid development of artificial intelligence is constantly changing the search sector, Apple embarking on such an endeavor carries a "major economic risk."

Creating a "viable" search engine would require Apple to "sell targeted ads." However, this would not only conflict with the company's "core business strategies" but also contradict its "long-standing privacy commitments."

Apple does not currently possess the "expert staff" and "operational infrastructure" required to build and sustainably operate a successful search engine.
