Apple's new software is on the way: iOS 27 will not come to these iPhones

As Apple prepares to introduce new software versions at WWDC this year, just as it does every year, details regarding the iOS 27 update are at the top of the agenda for tech enthusiasts. Users are closely following whether their devices will receive this update.

Considering recent leaks and the support policy from previous years, the updated list has been made public. While Apple is focusing on artificial intelligence-based innovations and battery performance in this version, it is ending support for some older generation iPhones.

The hardware requirements that have increased with the development of artificial intelligence functions have changed the scope of iOS 27. This year, the iPhone 11 series and the SE (2nd generation) stand out as the models that will not receive update support in the Apple ecosystem. Although these devices will not be able to benefit from the new features, they will continue to receive security patches for a while.

THE RANGE OF MODELS RECEIVING THE UPDATE IS EXPANDING

Good news for users waiting for iOS 27; the iPhone 12 series, which was released in 2020, will also receive this update. The following models are definitely on the list:

  • iPhone 17 and 16 series
  • iPhone 15 and 14 series
  • iPhone 13, 12 and SE (3rd generation) models

The new operating system will primarily increase battery efficiency, optimize system performance, and provide Siri with advanced artificial intelligence capabilities. No major changes are expected in the visual design.

DEVICES LEFT OUT OF SUPPORT AND THE FUTURE FOR USERS

As with every new update, devices that cannot meet certain hardware requirements have been left out of this wave. The widely used iPhone 11 series and iPhone SE (2nd generation) cannot keep up with Apple's new generation software with their A13 Bionic processors.

The main models that will not be able to receive iOS 27 are as follows:

  • iPhone 11 series (iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max)
  • iPhone SE (2nd generation)

For these models, iOS 26 will remain the last major software update, and they will continue to receive support limited only to security improvements. Users will no longer be able to benefit from the new interface or artificial intelligence-based Siri features.
