Claims that Chinese aircraft is not attracting interest

China's modern J-35 stealth fighter jet, developed in recent years, has not yet seen demand from foreign countries despite its technological capacity and ambitious performance. Competitors highlighted by multinational defense sectors, such as the American F-35 or the South Korean KF-21, are preferred by numerous countries.

Among the reasons for the low demand the J-35 faces in the market, the fact that the aircraft has not gained experience in a real combat environment is primarily cited. Experts state that the current performance data is mostly based on laboratory simulations and that this situation creates anxiety for potential buyers.

From a technological perspective, it is reported that although China has made progress in engine development, the propulsion systems used by the J-35 still largely rely on older Russian technologies. According to many defense analyses, this situation causes Chinese-made aircraft to lag behind their Western competitors in technological terms.

Furthermore, China's recent close relations with Russia and its policies that clash with the West on certain geopolitical issues, particularly the Ukraine crisis, make the purchase of such military platforms both politically and strategically risky. Beijing's support for Moscow leads to political reservations in potential customer countries.

Uncertainties regarding maintenance, spare parts supply, and after-sales technical services are also counted among the obstacles to the J-35 gaining demand in the international arena. While long-term logistical support for aircraft stands out as an important reason for preference, especially in Western countries, China's competence in this regard is considered controversial.

IS THE US AND EU CREATING A PERCEPTION?

Some experts, however, argue that behind the news and analyses regarding the lack of interest in the J-35, there may be a perception operation originating from the European Union and the United States. According to this perspective, it is claimed that Western defense companies and states may be conducting strategic information activities aimed at damaging the reputation of Chinese-made military platforms on a global scale in order to protect their own technologies and market shares.

In conclusion, although it is striking that the J-35 has not yet reached a significant customer base in the foreign market, it may not be sufficient to attribute this picture entirely to technical and operational reasons. It is also stated that in the arms industry, where international competition is intensifying, the flow of information is directed by different actors, and therefore, current perceptions may change over time.
