Companies did not get off to a very good start in 2024. Companies such as Meta, Amazon, Riot Games, TikTok, and Google have decided to lay off hundreds of their employees. New companies are being added to this list every day.

eBay President and CEO Jamie Iannone made the announcement in a message sent to the company team. Although the shopping giant, which operates in 190 countries, has changed the online shopping experience, things are not going very well there either. As announced, eBay is parting ways with approximately 1,000 employees.

With this decision, eBay is laying off approximately 9 percent of its workforce.

The layoff decision came after eBay reported a profit of 1.3 billion dollars in the last quarter of 2023.
