High-level leadership change at OpenAI: Greg Brockman takes charge of product strategy

A significant change has been made to OpenAI's management. Greg Brockman, one of the company's co-founders and its president, will now directly oversee the firm's product strategy. With this move, Brockman will more closely manage the processes of developing and delivering artificial intelligence products to users.

Brockman, who had been handling product strategy on an interim basis for some time, was already leading this area of the company due to CEO Fidji Simo's medical leave. With these new developments, this temporary situation has now been made official.

In a memo Brockman sent to the team, the plan to consolidate the company's popular AI assistant ChatGPT and its software development tool Codex under one roof stands out. Brockman's statement, "To achieve greater success in the consumer and enterprise markets, we are centralizing our product efforts with maximum focus on an agent-based future," drew attention.

Towards the end of last year, CEO Sam Altman stated that OpenAI needed to refocus on the ChatGPT experience. In line with this decision, the company had temporarily suspended side projects such as the video generation tool Sora and OpenAI for Science. With this new strategic management, the goal is for core products to offer a more integrated experience.
