Microsoft introduces 10 new artificial intelligence tools

Microsoft has announced 10 new autonomous artificial intelligence tools to be integrated into its Dynamics 365 platform, aiming to make work processes more efficient for employees in sales, customer service, and accounting departments.

Developing these AI solutions that require minimal human intervention, Microsoft introduced tools capable of sending emails on behalf of employees, managing records, processing customer requests, analyzing sales opportunities, and performing inventory management.

Some of these new AI tools are powered by OpenAI's large language model, and Microsoft stated that users can customize these tools via Copilot Studio with very little coding knowledge. The company plans to make these tools available in public preview starting from December 2024 through early 2025.

Microsoft executive Jared Spataro said that the new AI tools will function like smartphone applications in the age of artificial intelligence. Spataro believes these new "AI agents," which will handle many operations from sales opportunities to customer service, will increase employee productivity.

Spataro stated, "We identified processes where people spend a lot of time and money. These are usually repetitive tasks that they do not want to do. If we can automate these tasks, we can significantly increase productivity."

Charles Lamanna, Microsoft's Corporate Vice President for Business and Industry Copilot, told Reuters, "Copilot will be the user interface for AI. Every employee will have a personal Copilot, and they will be able to interact with these AI agents and other AI systems in the outside world."
