Porsche unveils the new Macan, its first all-electric SUV model
Porsche has unveiled its first all-electric SUV model. The new Macan, which features a powertrain with up to 639 PS, offers a range of up to 784 km in the city (according to WLTP) with its battery capable of high-speed charging up to 270 kW.
Ten years after its initial launch in 2014, the Porsche Macan is entering its second generation with an all-electric model. Having delivered more than 800 thousand Macan models worldwide to date, Porsche has introduced the all-electric new Macan, which is produced in a net carbon-neutral manner at its Leipzig facility.
Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG, stated, "We are taking the Macan to a completely new level with its exceptional electric performance, new Driver Experience, and impressive design."
The car is designed with an 800-volt architecture and stands out with its 100 kWh capacity high-voltage battery.
The battery, which has a 270 kW DC charging capacity, can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in approximately 21 minutes at a fast-charging station. During driving, up to 240 kW of energy can be recovered through regeneration.
The new Macan exhibits a sporty stance with its coupe roof design in the characteristic Porsche line and frameless doors.
The new Macan is 4,784 mm long, 1,938 mm wide, and 1,622 mm high.
The car offers a dynamic appearance thanks to its increased dimensions, sharper lines, and Porsche Design DNA. The new Macan looks more muscular with its increased wheelbase (2,893 mm) and wheel options ranging from 20 to 22 inches. The daytime running lights, which feature the signature four-point LEDs located on the vehicle's fenders, emphasize the width of the car. Matrix LED technology is available as an option for the main headlights positioned lower down. The Porsche logo at the rear of the vehicle is now integrated into the taillight strip in a 3D design.
The new Macan is equipped with three new screens, including a 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster with a curved design, a 10.9-inch central display, and an optional passenger screen.

The Porsche Driver Experience also includes a HUD (Head-Up Display) with augmented reality technology for the first time. Virtual visuals, such as navigation arrows, are seamlessly integrated into the real world.
The Macan 4 and Macan Turbo, which feature an all-wheel-drive system, utilize electronically controlled Porsche Traction Management (ePTM) technology. This technology operates five times faster than a conventional all-wheel-drive system and can react to wheel slip within 10 milliseconds. In the Macan Turbo model, the electronically controlled differential lock on the rear axle, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), enhances handling and driving pleasure. The revamped Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system features shock absorbers with two-valve technology. Thanks to the shock absorbers, which have a wider operating range, a broader spectrum between comfort and performance is offered. This makes the differences between driving programs even more noticeable.
The rear-axle steering system, offered as an option for the first time in the Macan, has a steering angle of 5 degrees. Thanks to this system, it offers a compact turning circle of 11.1 meters in city traffic and during maneuvers, and provides exceptional driving stability at high speeds, supported by the brand's characteristic balanced and precise front-axle steering.
