WhatsApp is testing a new AI-powered feature that will make it easier for users to get to the essence of messages without wasting time in long chats. This function, which appeared in the beta version and is still under development, can automatically summarize accumulated messages. The system, which can be used in both individual and group chats, works with Meta AI technology.

WHATSAPP IS BRINGING THE EXPECTED AI FEATURE

This system, which is being tested in the application, is activated with the "summarize messages" option. When the user clicks on this option, a short but meaningful summary of unread messages is prepared. Thus, the general content of the chat can be understood quickly.

According to the information shared about this feature, which is being tested in WhatsApp's beta version, the summarization process is performed entirely on the device. Thanks to a new security layer called "Private Processing," message contents are processed locally without being transferred to the cloud.

The new system aims to save time for users, especially in group chats where message traffic is heavy. However, this AI support is disabled in conversations where the 'Advanced Chat Privacy' feature is enabled.

This is not the only innovation Meta is testing. The company is also testing another AI function called "Writing Assistant." This tool can offer edits by reviewing users' messages for grammar and expression before they are sent.

Both features are currently in the testing phase, and Meta has not yet announced an official release date.
