YouTube is reducing the number of ads on its TV app
YouTube aims to maintain balance on its TV app by reducing the number of ads while increasing their duration.
The world's largest online video streaming platform, YouTube, is also widely used via televisions. The company, which is part of Google, made an announcement today that concerns those who use YouTube through their TVs.
IT WAS BEING TESTED
According to a report by WebTekno, it has been announced that fewer ads will now be shown on YouTube's TV application. You may have already seen this feature on your television, as it has been tested on select users since September.
The platform has begun rolling out the feature to everyone.
AD DURATION WILL INCREASE
Although the number of ads on the TV app is decreasing, the plan is to maintain balance by extending their duration. This means the ads you watch will be longer, and you will have to wait longer to skip them.
It is stated that this change will contribute to a better viewing experience by showing a few ads at once rather than seeing them frequently. Additionally, as before, it will be possible to see when the ad can be skipped from the bottom right corner.
YouTube continues to intensify its moves regarding advertisements. The company, which previously introduced unskippable 30-second ads to its TV app, recently launched a feature across all its applications that restricts ad blockers.
